I am writing to formally request your financial support to clear my outstanding university tuition, enabling me to complete my undergraduate legal studies and realize a long-held vision for community justice.
My academic journey began in 2014 when I graduated with a Bachelor of Mass Communication. While law was always my primary ambition, my family faced severe financial constraints at the time, which prevented the sponsorship of a legal education. Consequently, I accepted the opportunity to study mass communication, entering the workforce shortly thereafter.
My deep conviction regarding justice stems directly from my childhood, having grown up in a family that faced severe, ongoing injustice. Following my father's neglect of our home, relatives took advantage of our situation and grabbed our family assets. Experiencing this vulnerability firsthand—and seeing my family sidelined without legal recourse—fueled a lifelong determination to understand the law and protect others from similar exploitation.
Following a period of professional growth, I secured an employment contract with a development project. The remuneration from this role provided a viable opportunity to self-sponsor my legal education, leading to my enrollment for a Bachelor of Laws degree at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara. Crucially, the income allowed me to simultaneously finance my studies and provide vital financial support to my siblings.
Regrettably, the project concluded earlier than scheduled, resulting in sudden unemployment. To ensure my family's basic needs and my siblings' education remained uninterrupted, I directed my entire personal savings towards their support. As a direct consequence, I have been unable to settle my tuition fees for the previous semester and the current semester, leaving an outstanding balance of UGX 8,000,000.
I am currently in my fourth and final year of study. Our academic assessment requires the completion of Continuous Assessment Tests, which are administered exclusively through the university portal. Due to the outstanding tuition balance, my portal access remains restricted, preventing me from sitting these mandatory examinations and disrupting my academic progress.
My ultimate objective is to utilize this legal qualification to support families in accessing justice, with a specific focus on advancing women's access to and control of resources. In many communities, women shoulder the primary responsibility for educating children and youth. Empowering them legally and economically creates a direct, sustainable impact on generational growth.
