This page lists what YouFundMe stores in your browser and why. It sits alongside our Privacy Notice.
Always on: needed to run the site
These are required for signing in, keeping your account safe and remembering your choices. They cannot be switched off.
- yfm_session: keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and it expires after 24 hours or when you sign out.
- ub_auth and ub_role: tell the site whether to show the signed-in pages. They carry no personal data.
- yfm_consent_v1: remembers your privacy choice so we do not ask again on every visit.
- yfm_device_id: a random label for this browser, used to warn you if your account is opened from a device we have not seen before.
- theme: remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
Only with your consent: analytics
If you accept analytics, we count campaign visits so organisers can see how their page is doing. Visits from search engines and other automated visitors are filtered out. We do not build advertising profiles.
Marketing
We do not currently set marketing cookies. If that changes, this page will list them and you will be asked first.
Changing your choice
Your choice is stored in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the privacy banner will ask you again. Blocking all cookies will stop you from signing in.
