Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using YouFundMe, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or start a campaign. By using our platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

3. Campaign Rules

Campaigns must be truthful and not misleading. Funds raised must be used for the stated purpose. Organisers must complete identity verification (KYC) before withdrawing funds. We reserve the right to remove campaigns that violate our community guidelines.

4. Donations

Donations are voluntary contributions. A total fee of 10% (4.5% transaction fee + 5.5% platform fee) is deducted from each donation. All donations are final unless fraud is confirmed under our Giving Guarantee.

5. Withdrawals

Campaign organisers may request withdrawals of available funds at any time. All withdrawal requests require admin approval. Minimum withdrawal amount is UGX 1,000. Withdrawals are processed within 3-5 business days.

6. Prohibited Activities

You may not use YouFundMe for illegal activities, money laundering, terrorism financing, or any purpose that violates Ugandan law. Accounts engaging in prohibited activities will be suspended immediately.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on YouFundMe is owned by YouFundMe or its licensors. Campaign content remains the property of the organiser, but you grant us a license to display and promote your campaign on our platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

YouFundMe is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Kampala, Uganda, under the rules of the Uganda Arbitration Centre. You agree to waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of YouFundMe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
