Payments & Withdrawals
Supported payment methods
YouFundMe accepts three payment methods for donations, all processed securely by our payment processor.
MTN Mobile Money
Available to all MTN Uganda subscribers. When donating, select "MTN MoMo", enter your MTN number (e.g. 0771234567), and click Donate. You will receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your MTN MoMo PIN to confirm. The donation is processed instantly.
Airtel Money
Available to all Airtel Uganda subscribers. Select "Airtel Money", enter your Airtel number (e.g. 0701234567), and click Donate. You will receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your Airtel Money PIN to confirm.
Credit or Debit Card
We accept Visa and Mastercard from any country. Select "Credit or debit card", enter your card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing details. Your card is charged immediately and securely on the hosted card page of our payment processor.
Minimum donation amount
The minimum donation is UGX 1,000, or USD 1 and the equivalent in any other supported currency. There is no maximum donation amount.
What you pay
You pay the donation amount you enter, plus a payment processing fee of 4% and tax of 3.5%, with the tax calculated on the donation amount and the processing fee on the total you pay, plus an optional tip if you add one. The exact total is shown before you confirm payment. The campaign is credited with the full donation amount.
Mobile money network charges
Mobile money network charges from MTN or Airtel may also apply and are paid by you directly to the network. These charges are set by the network, not by YouFundMe.
Payment confirmation
After a successful donation, you will see a confirmation screen and receive an email receipt (if you provided your email). For mobile money, confirmation typically takes 10–30 seconds.
Tip
For the fastest experience, use MTN MoMo or Airtel Money if you are in Uganda. Card payments work from anywhere in the world and are ideal for international donors.
